- The Auction — 18 August 2026, 7:00 PM, at NMSA Vashi. 10 teams, each with a ₹5 lakh budget, a ₹2,000 minimum bid increment, and a 30-second bid timer. 104 players went under the hammer.
- The Tournament — a Round Robin format among the same 10 teams, followed by a top-4 playoff (semi-finals and a final), played across 4 courts with 10 dedicated scorers covering the full match list between them.
From Auction to Tournament, With Nothing Re-Typed
The usual failure point between "we ran an auction" and "we ran a tournament" is the gap in between — someone has to take the final team rosters out of the auction and rebuild them, player by player, inside whatever tool is going to handle scoring and fixtures. That gap is where names get misspelled, players get missed, and an evening gets lost to data entry.
At NMSA Open, the tournament's 10 teams were populated directly from the completed auction's own rosters — the same players, the same team names, carried over automatically. The organiser went from a finished auction to a ready-to-schedule tournament without opening a spreadsheet once.

With 10 teams playing a full round robin, that's 45 ties before a single playoff match is scheduled. Add the top-4 semi-finals and final on top, and the tournament ran 245 individual matches from start to finish.
To get through that volume, NMSA ran 4 courts simultaneously with 10 scorers sharing the match list between them — the same "one scorer per court" model that scales cleanly regardless of how many courts are running, each scorer tapping through matches on their own phone with no coordination needed between courts.
